Remember when small towns throughout the country consisted of real neighborhoods and a real downtown where you could actually walk to the store and buy a quart of milk? Remember those communities where you actually knew your neighbor’s name?
The Village at Verdier Plantation is bringing that quality of life back, but with a 21st Century flourish. The 125-acre development, located near the intersection of U.S. 278 and SC 170, will include single and multi-family homes, a “Town Square” that features a town center, fitness center, and information center, and yes, a real downtown.
Residents from the three gated neighborhoods that make up the community will be a short walk or bike ride from stores, offices and restaurants.
The “flourish” comes from the fact that cutting-edge communication and information technology is built into everything, from the homes and commercial area to “Town Square” complex. A fiber optics cable system runs throughout The Village, delivering a digital signal at the speed of light. “Wi-Fi hot spots” will be available at strategic locations within The Village.
Unlike the traditional “Small Town, USA,” residents won’t be cutting lawns or trimming the hedges, they will enjoy maintenance-free living.
“When we say that life at The Village at Verdier Plantation will be ‘carefree,’ we really mean it,” said Johnny Chappell, Sales Manager.
The name “Verdier Plantation” came from the origins of the land where the new community is located. It was once part of the Verdier family land, whose ownership dates back more than two centuries.
The developer is The Village Development Group.
