A lifestyle of leisure, combined with countless amenities, high-quality homes and moderate prices, is attracting buyers to Hampton Hall. Centrally located on the ever-growing Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton, Hampton Hall is less than a 30-minute drive from Savannah, Beaufort or Hilton Head Island. In addition, it is just a bike-ride away from the future Berkeley Place, with a 12-screen cinema, shops, restaurants and offices.
Construction of the 1,000-acre Hampton Hall began in summer 2002, and sales began in spring 2003. In 2004, the private Hampton Hall Golf Club , a Pete Dye golf course was built and the clubhouse was opened.
That resulted in tremendous sales in 2004, Hampton Hall President Gerrit Albert said. In 2004, the community sold 200 units (homes and homesites combined).
The future is looking even brighter to Albert. “We look at 2005 as being a breakout year where we anticipate to do 300 units,” he said.
After living on Hilton Head Island for the past 14 years, Carol and Sid Putnam are now building a home in Hampton Hall. “We were looking for more bang for the buck, and Hampton Hall seemed to have that,” Carol said. “Plus I wanted to get off the island because of the congestion.” Carol said she’s most looking forward to living in a smaller community. She also added, “I’m looking forward to the amenities – the spa and the indoor pool.”
“It has more to offer than anybody else in its price point range,” Hampton Hall Marketing Director Paula Magrini said.
Homes at Hampton Hall begin in the low $300,000s for Carriage and Carolina homes and low $400,000s for Estate homes. Homesites begin in the low $100,000s. Magrini said the three components of Hampton Hall are John Reed, Gary Rowe and Toll Brothers. “They’re definitely part of this formula,” she said. “They offer different lifestyles in their program.”
Since the 1970s, Reed and Rowe have played large roles in the development of the Lowcountry. Both developers of Belfair, Berkeley Hall and Colleton River, they partnered with the national luxury home builder Toll Brothers to develop Hampton Hall. Albert said there is no other neighborhood that offers so many amenities to property owners as Hampton Hall does.
Membership includes access to the community clubhouse and sports complex. Outdoor amenities include fishing and 6-1/2 miles of biking and walking trails. The style of Hampton Hall was inspired by close-knit European villages, and at the center of this village are the community clubhouse and sports complex.
“Because of that village, which is such a central piece of our community, it will attract young families, retired families and everyone in between,” Albert said.
The planned community clubhouse will offer family or gourmet dining, a tap room, banquet hall, library, billiards room, card rooms and club meeting rooms. The clubhouse will be an estimated 22,000 square feet and will be under construction in 2006.
If property owners want golf memberships, they will have access not only to the private Hampton Hall Golf Club, a Pete Dye golf course but also to the 10,500-square-foot golf clubhouse. The golf clubhouse includes a pro shop, men’s and women’s locker rooms, practice area, card rooms, and a bar and grille. All property owners will have access to this clubhouse until construction of the community clubhouse has been completed.
The sports complex features a 25-meter indoor lap pool, aerobics room, massage and steam rooms, tennis, basketball and bocce courts, café and even a playground for the children. A high-tech fitness center is scheduled to be built in spring 2005. Another factor that brings buyers to the neighborhood is the choices available to them when choosing a home, Albert said.
“One thing that makes it that much easier to purchase here is that you have an extremely reputable builder in Toll Brothers,” Albert said, adding, “More than likely we have the product you’re looking for.”
Hampton Hall offers a model home program where buyers can simply select a home from a Toll Brothers Lowcountry home or golf cottage, for example. If existing home styles do not suit buyers, they can choose from the neighborhood’s six preferred custom builders.
In an effort to preserve the Lowcountry’s beauty and environmental integrity, Hampton Hall has preserved 155 acres of wetlands and 80 additional acres of land around the wetlands. Visit them online at www.hamptonhallsc.com.
