Cold Mountain is about creating the modern rural life. It always bothered me that on Green Acres, there had to be a choice between city and country life. It made for memorable comedy, but a lack of compromise rarely produces positive results.
DEBBIE SULLIVAN: Debbie was born in Lexington, Kentucky, but grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her passion for Hilton Head Island began when she first vacationed here in 1979. Three years later she decided to call Hilton Head her home & moved here full-time. Due to job opportunities, Debbie relocated to Fairfield, CT, & then Atlanta, GA before returning to Hilton Head Island in 1995. Debbie was co-owner of a remodeling company that operated on Hilton Head Island for 10 years. She enjoyed the business so much & gets great satisfaction in helping her clients attain their home improvement goals that a career in real estate was a natural progression for her.
JOE HANLEY: Joe was born in New York City and grew up on Long Island. After college and the military, he joined the federal government and served for 33 years in the Pentagon with the last 20 years as Director of Public Affairs and Advertising for the Chief, Army Reserve. Like most folks, Joe started vacationing on Hilton Head Island over 20 years ago and always knew that he wanted to retire here.
